STAY PROGRAM IN THE VETERINARY DEPARTMENT OF OASIS WILDLIFE FUERTEVENTURA
https://oasiswildlifefuerteventura.com/
Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura is a zoological park located at Carretera General de Jandía, Km 17, La Lajita, Pájara, Fuerteventura. Today the park has more than 3,000 animals of 250 different species.
The veterinary department consists of three full-time veterinarians and the clinic has a treatment room, laboratory, X-ray room, operating room and hospitalization. Animals that, due to their characteristics, therapeutic needs and type of management, can be transferred to the clinic for diagnosis and treatment, are moved there.
On the other hand, there are cases of potentially dangerous or large animals that are cared for in their facilities or shelters.
Part of the daily work consists of the application of prophylactic measures to prevent diseases in the zoological collection, which can mean anything from a correct conditioning of the facilities, design and nutritional adjustment of the diets, formation of adequate social groups, population control, to various types of vaccinations/deworming.
In addition to the animals that we have in the park, veterinary services are provided to other collections located on different farms (camels, sheep...) and to all the injured wild fauna found on the island.
The services available at the clinic are care, diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment and recovery. For this we have a treatment area and primary reception, a laboratory for clinical analysis (hematology, biochemistry, coprology, cytology, urinalysis, etc.), an x-ray and ultrasound room, a surgical area and a nursing area. /hospitalization.
