Ethnological conferences on the Majorero goat.
Dates: Thursday May 10 – Sunday May 13, 2018
Place: Island of Fuerteventura
1º) Reason for completion:
Due to the suspension of the Fuerteventura Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing Fair (Feaga), these conferences are proposed as an alternative so that students in the fifth year of the veterinary degree can participate and obtain similar learning to that which would take place in said fair.
2º) Activities to carry out:
The activities offered by the responsible organizer consist of visits to Majorero cattle farms that produce dairy products, phenotypic evaluation of Majorero goats, "coastal goat management" and a theoretical conference on aspects of goat production on the island of Fuerteventura. .
3) Chronology of activities:
The different activities offered will take place from Thursday, May 10 to Sunday, May 13, 2018.
4º) Participants:
The conferences are intended for fifth-year veterinary students, establishing a maximum number of participants of 25 students.
5º) Accommodation:
Accommodation will be in community shelters, obtained through the responsible organizer.
6) Responsible for the activity: Dr. Juan Fco. Capote Alvarez
7th) Collaboration: Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The faculty will finance the transportation to the island of Fuerteventura. The students will be organized with their private cars. We will have a meeting to explain the details. The meeting will be mandatory.
